Hello, my name is Natalia Shcherbakova. I’ve been playing the guitar since I was little. I was introduced to the acoustic six-string guitar at the age of 12 when my parents enrolled me in music school (yes, notes, nylon strings, footrest for the left leg – everything as it should be).
I loved music passionately and practiced diligently, playing for several hours each day. I couldn’t stay away from the guitar. Every day, returning from school, instead of doing homework, I would pick it up and start strumming guitar chords. Thanks to this dedication, I soon became confident enough to play with friends.
In music school, teachers taught songs on the guitar and chords they considered necessary or liked from their generation. It was the year 1993, and I didn’t have the internet, and it was not very developed at that time. I had to pick guitar chords and adapt my favorite compositions on my own and with the help of friends who were guitarists. I made a lot of mistakes in my learning process, trying to play compositions that I clearly wasn’t ready for, but the most important thing was the incredible feeling when it finally worked out. Later, I got a notebook where tabs and chords for the guitar were collected, and then not just one.
