Hello, my name is Natalia Shcherbakova. I’ve been playing the guitar since childhood. I was introduced to the classical guitar at the age of 12 when my parents enrolled me in music school (yes: sheet music, nylon strings, footrest for the left leg – everything as it should be).
After dedicating 4 years and mastering the basics of guitar art, I came across such a wonderful instrument as the ukulele. I immediately understood that it was what I needed. Firstly, the ukulele is half the size, and I am a petite, delicate girl, and dragging around a huge guitar became tiresome. Secondly, despite its imaginary simplicity, the ukulele almost does not yield to the guitar in terms of sound, and you can play most guitar compositions on it.
It was 1993 in the backyard, and I didn’t have the internet, and it was not very developed at that time. I had to pick ukulele chords and adapt my favorite compositions on my own, fortunately, the education I received in music school helped me. Later, I got a notebook where tabs and chords for the ukulele were collected, and later not just one.
